The Parks and Recreation Commission tonight will consider a request for a surfing festival to be held in August 2000. The three-day event would be held on the north side of the pier. About 250 feet of beach would be off-limits to non-contestants during the event. The commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Community Center’s Ole Hanson Room, 100 N. Calle Seville.
