LAGUNA BEACH

The City Council plans to send a letter to the Federal Communications Commission in support of radio station KCRW-FM (89.9), the flagship for National Public Radio in Southern California. In May, Best Media Inc. filed an application with the FCC to build a transmitter in Fallbrook that would extend the range of a Christian radio station that broadcasts on the same frequency and could result in the loss of KCRW reception in Laguna Beach. The council unanimously agreed that the loss of NPR in Laguna Beach would be unacceptable. Information: (949) 497-0750.
