19th Street Bridge
* To build or not to build a 19th Street bridge in Costa Mesa is not the question. It is irrelevant to the need for a viable west side plan. However, improvements can and must be made by the City Council. Specifically, reduce the west side illegal density to improve our schools significantly. This in turn will enhance our property values, business growth, neighborhood security and overall environment.
So the real question is: Are there any council members with the courage and conviction to vote the elimination of its “magnet” policies that have clearly caused the West Side to decline? Sadly, the honest answer is no.
Thus, as our schools decline citywide with overcrowding, low test scores and high dropouts, so does our quality of life citywide.
So, forget the bridges. Get to the root and heart of the problem--the voting record, the liberal philosophy and the attitude of denial or indifference of the Costa Mesa City Council.
