Turbodyne Technologies Names Hofbauer to Replace CEO Ware

* Turbodyne Technologies Inc., a Woodland Hills-based maker of pollution-reduction products for internal combustion engines, has named Peter Hofbauer as its chief executive. Hofbauer succeeds Walter Ware, who the company said resigned for personal reasons but will remain a member of the board. Hofbauer was president of Turbodyne’s Propulsion Research Institute. Prior to joining the company, he worked for Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Germany, where he was head of engines and transmission development.

* Sanford Panitch, executive vice president of production at 20th Century Fox, has been named president of production at New Regency Productions. New Regency of Los Angeles is a key partner in various film and television projects with Fox, and Panitch will continue working closely with his former employer, the companies said.

* The Automobile Club of Southern California has promoted Tim Irwin to managing director for travel-related products, services and travel agency support functions. He will be responsible for expanding and integrating travel services for the Auto Club and its operations in Texas, New Mexico and Hawaii.

* Los Angeles-based Capitol Records has appointed David Linton senior vice president of R&B; promotion and marketing. He previously worked with Bad Boy and La Face labels.

* Dr. Martin Paris has been named senior vice president of medical affairs and quality improvement at Tenet Healthcare Corp., a Santa Barbara-based hospital operator. Paris, who previously served as medical affairs vice president, will be responsible for physician communications and clinical program development and will report to the chief operating officer.
