MASONTOWN, Pa. — A toddler playing hide-and-seek with his older sisters died of apparent heat exposure after he hid in the family car.
Cody Anthony Britt, 2, was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon, Fayette County Coroner Phillip Reilly said.
The sisters, ages 6 and 3, could not find Cody after he ducked down in the passenger seat. He had been inside the car for at least an hour when they found him. Outside temperatures were in the upper 90s, and the boy’s asthma condition made the heat particularly dangerous, Reilly said.
