At-Home Parents

* As a long-time Clinton supporter I was angered at the pittance President Clinton flung toward at-home parents: a tax credit for an infant under the age of 1 contrasted with continual credits for children of all ages in day care (Jan. 20). Many parents sacrifice mightily to be at home with their children. Clinton would have the taxes of those parents pay the day-care bill for more affluent families!

If tax credits are given, at-home parents deserve benefits identical to parents using day care. Then, for once, we could use the phrase “family values” and really mean something.
