Cal Lutheran Wins Easily on Inside Job
Dominance in the frontcourt carried Cal Lutheran past Occidental, 91-44, in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Tuesday night at Cal Lutheran.
The Regals (13-3, 3-1 in conference) outscored Occidental, 48-19, in the first half and never trailed.
Center Missy Rider had 25 points and 12 rebounds for Cal Lutheran, forward Nicole Sanchez scored 21 points and forward Haley Jones added nine points and 12 rebounds.
Rider, Sanchez and Jones outscored Occidental’s starting frontcourt, 55-8.
Cal Lutheran held a 50-23 advantage in rebounds.
Anna Celaya scored 14 points and Bobbie Celaya had 11 for Occidental (4-11, 1-3).

The Master’s 75, Chapman 40--Elizabeth Hansell scored 19 points for the Mustangs (18-4) in a nonconference victory at Master’s.
Desert 65, Antelope Valley 61--Camina Stevenson scored 15 points and Davia Shannon had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the Marauders (14-10, 6-3) in a Foothill Conference setback at Desert.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Viewpoint 5, Providence 1--Nick Fries scored two of his three goals in the first half for the Patriots in a Liberty League game at Viewpoint (6-6-1, 2-4-1).
Brentwood 4, Campbell Hall 1--Def Sansevere scored two goals, and Arthur Sherman and Dan Nagler each scored one for the Eagles in a Delphic League game at Brentwood.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Ventura 3, Dos Pueblos 0--Kitty Sexton and Alisa Coenen each had a goal and an assist, and Jyene Mack scored a goal for the Cougars in a Channel League game at Ventura (12-7-4, 2-0-3).
