Man Fatally Hit After Leaving Disabled Car
A Canoga Park man was killed on California 118 after he was struck by a car when he got out to examine his disabled vehicle in Simi Valley, authorities said Saturday.
Alberto Flores, 29, was heading east on the Ronald Reagan Freeway near the Kuehner Drive exit late Friday when his car ran off the road for unknown reasons, the California Highway Patrol said.
Flores tried to drive back on the road, but the car stalled across two eastbound lanes. He got out to examine it and was hit by a car driven by an unidentified 41-year-old North Hills man.
Flores was pronounced dead at Simi Valley Hospital.
The North Hills man was not cited, authorities said.
