BEAR VALLEY, Calif. — Investigators late Sunday afternoon called off the search for a Milpitas woman who disappeared Friday while skiing with her husband at the Bear Valley Ski Area south of Lake Tahoe.
Snow and wind hampered Alpine County Sheriff’s Department investigators searching for Katherine Wong, 48. Sheriff Henry “Skip” Veatch said that “weather conditions and wind chill factor since Friday have decreased the possibility of her survival.”
The pediatrician was last seen by her husband when they got off a ski lift and went to separate trails.
