A masked gunman robbed a bakery in La Colonia and two of its customers of $450 in cash Sunday afternoon, police said.
Herrera’s Bakery in the 500 block of Colonia Road was robbed about 1:30 p.m. by a man wearing a black jacket and blue pants and carrying a silver-colored handgun, according to Oxnard Police Officer Mike Radziewicz.
The robber pointed the gun at a bakery employee, who handed over cash from the register, then he held up two Oxnard men who were standing in line, Radziewicz said.
Before leaving, the robber, who was described as being between 35 and 40 years of age, also pointed the gun at several other customers. No one was injured.
The robber fled on foot and was last seen running through an alley to the north of the bakery. More than half a dozen patrol officers searched the neighborhood but did not find the suspect.
