Cincinnati’s Huggins Reprimanded

Conference USA has reprimanded Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins for comments he made over the public address system during a game against North Carolina Charlotte on Wednesday in which he made vague reference to unidentified people in the conference “who don’t have class.” . . . . The Southeastern Conference suspended Louisiana State center Jabari Smith for the first half of today’s game at Georgia after he committed an “unsportsmanlike act” in Wednesday’s victory over South Carolina. . . . Former Southeast Missouri State Coach Ron Shumate is suing the university, claiming the NCAA violations that got him fired were made up. Shumate is seeking nearly $300,000 in lost salary and benefits.
