The City Council recently approved plans for a storm drain system on 9th Street from Chapman Avenue to Reva Drive and on Lampson Avenue from Beach Boulevard to Arrowhead Street. The improvements include construction of the storm drain, catch basins, pavement over the trench and traffic striping. The system will alleviate flooding on 9th and Lampson, a regular occurrence on rainy days. Money for the project will come from the 1998-99 capital improvement budget and is funded by gas tax and drainage funds.
