1 Dead, 1 Critical in Drive-By Shooting

NORTH HILLS — A man was killed and another critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in front of an apartment complex Monday, police said.
The victims were on the west side of the 8900 block of Orion Avenue at about 1 a.m. when several shots were fired at them from a passing vehicle, said Sgt. Dan Mastro of LAPD’s Devonshire Division.
The dead man, who was shot once in the upper body and died at the scene, was identified as Joe Martinez, 22, of Canoga Park, Mastro said. The other victim, also shot once in the upper body, was identified as Armando Reagan, 19, of North Hills.
Reagan was in critical but stable condition at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, police said.
