HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS / GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Playoff pairings were released Sunday for boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball and girls’ water polo. Here’s a summary of the pairings.
Brea Olinda and Rosary, as expected, received the No. 1 seeding in their divisions.
Brea (24-3), which has won 10 consecutive Southern Section titles, was the top choice in Division II-AA. Rosary (19-8) is No. 1 in Division III-AA. Both received byes into Saturday’s second round.
El Toro (19-4) was the county’s only second-seeded team and plays Saturday against the winner of a wild-card game between Esperanza and Alta Loma in Division I-AA.
Dana Hills hosts Bell Gardens (Division I-AA), Anaheim hosts Woodbridge (I-A), and St. Margaret’s plays at Compton Queen of Angels Academy (V-AA) in other wild-card games Thursday.
