Despite protests from nearby residents, Parks, Beaches and Recreation commissioners this week narrowly approved more Little League night games at Lincoln Athletic Field. The 4-3 vote allows the league to use the field Friday nights until 9:45 and Saturdays until 8 p.m. for makeup games throughout the regular season, March 1 through June 12. Residents wanted Saturday nights free of the sounds of baseball.
In addition--and also over neighbors’ objections--the commission approved a permanent, lighted scoreboard that will hang in right-center field and face Pacific View Drive.
