LAGUNA BEACH
More than 700 people were expected to tour the city’s art galleries Thursday night as part of a celebration marking the one-year anniversary of the First Thursday’s Artwalk, officials said.
Mayor Steve Dicterow was on hand to help unveil a concrete bench designed by Laguna Beach-based artist Judy Klernek. The bench, on North Coast Highway between Madison Square Cafe and Peter Blake Gallery, will serve as a reminder that the city is a premiere artists colony, said arts coordinator Sian Poeschl.
Thursday’s party featured gallery tours, live music and a performance by a member of Cirque du Soleil.
