LA PALMA
Louie and Irene Yamanishi, community volunteers and La Palma residents for 25 years, will be honored with Cypress College’s Americana Awards later this month. The awards, presented by the Cypress College Foundation since 1976, honor those in cities near the college who have contributed to their community. The Yamanishis have been involved in school parent-teacher organizations, La Palma Days, the Neighborhood Watch and other local activities. The awards will be presented at a banquet Feb. 27.
