City resident Diane Sorensen has accepted a temporary position with the Orange County Fair, succeeding Jill Lloyd & Associates as director of public affairs, fair officials said. Jill Lloyd & Associates left recently after 25 years with the fair.
Sorensen’s $35,000 contract will expire Aug. 31. Her primary duty will be to act as a transitional team leader and to take care of the immediate needs and projects related to the upcoming fair. Sorensen will oversee the marketing campaign, media relations and sponsorship liaisons for the 1999 fair. She worked for the fair from 1988 to 1994 as an employee with Jill Lloyd & Associates. Before accepting her new position, she had her own public affairs and special event consulting business.
