A player’s tips for recruits:

* Buy a T-shirt wherever you visit. They make good memorabilia and are something you can show your own kids when you get older.

* Set high goals for yourself--don’t settle for anything less than what you think you deserve.

* Know what you want out of a school. If you want to play for a top-25 program, go after it. If you want a good academic institution and a top volleyball program, go for it.

* Keep an open mind. Just because you heard stuff about a school, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily true. Use your five trips to learn what’s true and what isn’t. Go to places you never thought you’d go in your life.

* Recruiting is an extremely emotional experience, but don’t ever forget why you play the game. You play it because you love to compete, you love to win, and you love to be the best you can be.
