BREA
The City Council today will decide whether to award a $44,000 contract to American House Moving Inc. to relocate the historic Kinsler House. The 1912 Craftsman-style bungalow at 129 S. Orange Ave. is special not so much for its architecture but for its association with civic leader Charles Kinsler, who spearheaded the movement for Brea’s incorporation in 1917.
City officials decided to move the home to make room for Superblock II, part of the downtown redevelopment project comprising shops and housing. If approved, the Chino-based company would move the Kinsler house to 258 S. Redwood Ave. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in chambers, 1 Civic Center Circle.
