VENTURA COUNTY PEOPLE
* Jennylynd James has joined Boskovich Farms in Oxnard as director of product safety, research and development. She succeeds Donna Garren, who will be joining the United Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Assn. as director of scientific and technical affairs.
James, who has a PhD, has worked with grapes and wine, fresh fruits and vegetables, canned produce, processed meats, condiments and sauces.
* Gary Brenner of Ventura became a certified nutritionist by completing a program at the National Institute of Nutritional Education. The six-course program, which includes an examination, covers public health and wellness, anatomy and physiology, normal nutrition and alternative therapies.
Brenner has a private health-food business.
* Eric S. Smith has joined David M. Smith & Associates as a financial planning assistant. He is a member of the California State Bar, having received his law degree from Pepperdine University.
David M. Smith is a financial planning and investment advisory firm, specializing in services for investors with $100,000 or more.
