ARCADIA — Three incumbents on the Arcadia school board will keep their seats for a new term without an election because they were unopposed, city officials said.
Maryann Gibson, John McClain and James C. Romo will serve four more years. They were the only candidates to file for office by the Friday deadline.
Romo, an attorney whose law firm provides legal counsel to school districts across the state, was selected by his colleagues to fill a vacant seat on the five-member body in 1997.
It will be McClain’s second four-year term and Gibson’s third.
District officials said an April 20 election will be unnecessary, saving as much as $100,000.
