McWilliams Joins Aon; Smith an Emulex VP

John McWilliams has joined Aon Consulting as a consultant in its employee benefits division in Costa Mesa. McWilliams has five years’ consulting experience with a focus on competitive benefit analysis, financial plan review and reporting and plan design and implementation.

* Michael E. Smith has been appointed vice president, worldwide marketing, for Emulex Corp. in Costa Mesa. Smith has held the positions of senior director and vice president of fiber channel marketing since joining the company in 1998. Before that, Smith was marketing manager for fiber channel products at Adaptec Inc. and held marketing and engineering positions with Western Digital.

* Art Navarro has been appointed vice president of the Irvine office of Nelson Communications Group, a public relations firm. He had been a broadcast journalist for UPN-News 13 and KCAL-TV Channel 9.

* W. Brian Kretzmer, chief executive of MAI Systems Inc. in Irvine, has assumed the added position of chief financial officer. He succeeds Lewis Stanton, who left the company. Kretzmer rejoined MAI on Aug. 3 after working at a new venture for two years.
