Datum Eliminates 18 Engineering Jobs
Irvine-based Datum Inc. has eliminated 18 engineering jobs, company officials said Thursday.
The layoffs were a result of a redirection of the engineering operations of the company, which will farm out a number of its projects, said David Young, chief financial officer. Datum designs and manufactures sophisticated timing devices.
No further job cuts are planned, Young said. The company has 550 employees nationwide, 250 of them in Irvine.
