Free hepatitis B and other required immunizations will be offered later this month to youths under 18 in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys.
The 10th annual Kids Care Fair, sponsored by the American Red Cross and KABC-Channel 7, will take place Aug. 27-29 at 28 locations throughout Southern California.
In the San Fernando Valley, youths may receive shots and screenings at the YWCA of Greater L.A.-North Valley, 1200 N. Maclay Ave., in the city of San Fernando.
The services may also be obtained at the L.A. County Health Center, 23763 Valencia Blvd. in Valencia.
The sites will offer basic health screenings, including testing vision, taking height and weight measurements, and checking blood pressure and teeth.
All vaccines will be administered by county health department personnel. Linda Swift, project director, asks that parents bring records of their children’s previous immunizations, if possible, to the fair sites.
