Slowing Job Growth?

The Labor Department issues employment data for March. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News expect job growth slowed in March, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by 147,000. The economy added 275,000 jobs in February, the Labor Department said. March would mark the lowest monthly jobs increase since July, when the U.S. economy added 118,000 nonfarm jobs. Economists also expect that the nation’s unemployment rate held steady in March at 4.4%, unchanged from February and near the 29-year low of 4.3% in December and January.

Also today, the Commerce Department issues housing completions for February.
