2 Women, Child Are Killed in House Fire

Two women and a child died when flames swept through a three-story frame house in the Bronx. Laura Lawrence, 50, was pulled from the house alive but later died at a hospital. A 30-year-old woman and her 1-year-old son were found dead on the second floor. A 35-year-old man was injured when he leaped out of an attic window to escape the fire. He was listed in critical but stable condition. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries.
