City Seeks Cable Broadcast of Council Meetings

The City Council agreed Wednesday to negotiate with the local TV cable company to televise meetings and other city events.
Council members will negotiate coverage of council meetings in their contract talks with TCI Cablevision. The firm’s contract expires later this year.
“The people should be able to watch the council from their homes,” Councilwoman Sally Holguin Fallon said.
A deal with TCI to use the company’s equipment and technicians would be cheaper than buying city equipment, officials said.
