Canyons 46, Santa Barbara 18--Kevin Carrasco completed 21 of 27 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns for the Cougars, who scored 39 unanswered points after falling behind, 18-7, in the second quarter of a WSC Northern Division game at Canyons.
Jason Kitchens caught 10 passes for 149 yards, including touchdown receptions of three and 11 yards for Canyons, the 10th-ranked team in the state.
Jason Parks of Canyons (6-1, 3-0) had 181 yards rushing in 19 carries and scored two touchdowns, including an 84-yard run on the last play of the third quarter. He caught three passes for 27 yards.
Jason Ascencio caught a five-yard touchdown pass and intercepted a pass for the Cougars.
Jeremy Mushinski scored Canyon’s final touchdown on a 10-yard pass from Chris Kobe midway through the fourth quarter.
Danny Nunez completed 14 of 34 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns but threw two interceptions for the Vaqueros (0-6, 0-2).
