City Considers Limits on Alcohol, Tobacco Billboards

City officials are expected to propose an ordinance outlawing tobacco and alcohol billboard advertising near schools, churches and homes.
Pasadena would join dozens of other cities in Los Angeles County that have outlawed such billboards within a 1,000 feet of schools and residential neighborhoods.
The city’s tobacco control program has begun a study about what is being advertised on billboards in advance of a City Council vote, expected before Christmas.
