Some routine material stops the singer with the fetching Dolly Parton quaver short of delivering a consistently first-rank follow-up to her striking 1997 debut. But revealing moments outweigh the predictable and the majority of her song choices--including the two she co-wrote--exhibit enough ambition to keep her stock high as one of Nashville’s brightest new properties.
