Police Seek Witnesses to Man’s Death at Party
Homicide investigators on Monday urged witnesses to the slaying of an alleged gang member at a late-night party over the weekend to come forward.
Cedric Reynolds, 25, was shot several times Sunday morning during a fight at a party in two vacant apartments on Atlantic Avenue, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Karen Kerr Owens.
Police were called to the apartments about 1:30 a.m. after receiving complaints about noise from the party, Owens said. As officers arrived, they noticed a large crowd fighting outside.
When the officers approached, the crowd scattered, leaving Reynolds on the ground, wounded. He was rushed to Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Owens said.
Police urged anyone with information to call homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244.
