Man Held in Alleged Molestation of Disabled Girl
A Camarillo golf enthusiast poised to try out for the PGA tour this week was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and sexually molesting a 9-year-old mentally disabled girl, police said Monday.
David Pichon, 33, who was to try out for the tour at the Crystalaire County Club in the high desert community of Llano, was being held at the Lancaster jail in lieu of $1-million bail, authorities said.
Lt. John Crabb of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the girl “was touched inappropriately. There was a sexual assault.”
The incident began Saturday afternoon when the girl, who has the mental capacity of a 4-year-old, wandered from her home and was walking along Pearblossom Highway when a man offered her a ride, authorities said.
They said witnesses reported seeing a girl getting into a white Cadillac in the parking lot of the Pearblossom Post Office. The witnesses followed the Cadillac long enough to call sheriff’s deputies and report the car’s license plate number.
At about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, a Littlerock resident found the girl wandering again and notified police.
Authorities said the girl gave investigators information which led them to Pichon, including a description of his car and the Crystalaire County Club. He was arrested Sunday.
Pichon owns Custom Car Sounds on East Main Street in Ventura.
