Baby in Stroller Dies After Being Hit by Car
SANTA PAULA — A 4-month-old Santa Paula boy who was struck by a vehicle as he sat in a stroller died of his injuries early Sunday, police said.
Ivan Perez and the woman pushing his stroller, Carmen Lopez, 46, were injured in the accident at 7:12 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of East Harvard Boulevard and taken to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, Police Sgt. Michael Saviers said.
Ivan was later taken by helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1 a.m., a nursing supervisor said.
Lopez’s condition was unknown late Sunday.
The driver of the vehicle, Frances George, 75, of Santa Paula, was not injured. He was not cited, Saviers said.
