Opportunities for Volunteering
The East Valley Multipurpose Senior Center is seeking volunteers with experience in photography to photograph senior clients for identification cards. The center also needs individuals who enjoy spending time with children to assist teachers in classrooms for one hour a week at Colfax Elementary School. The Volunteer Center Assistance League of Southern California is looking for volunteers to staff a carnival Saturday to raise funds for an organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities.
In addition, the center is seeking volunteers to help clean a section of Van Nuys Boulevard on Saturday. T-shirts will be given to participants in the cleanup, and refreshments will be served. The Beverly Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Burbank is seeking volunteers 55 and older to assist with the center’s monthly candlelight dinner, held on the final Thursday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. Duties include serving food to residents and their guests.

The Boys & Girls Club of Burbank is seeking volunteers to spend one hour a week reading to children who are club members. Volunteers will work one-on-one with the children and are asked to commit to the “Time for Kids” reading program for one year.
