Suzanne Muchnic did a fine piece about the coming season in the fine arts arena (Art Notes, Sept. 27), but it needs an addendum.
Many of the smaller auction houses and companies in Southern California offer fine works of art that warrant attention. The L.A. County Administrator’s estate auctions on occasion have such opportunities. These auctions are always conducted on the second Saturday of each month at 9536 Brasher St. in Pico Rivera and do not include a buyer’s premium in their purchase process.
It’s a far more informal setting than found at the international auction houses, but those with a special knowledge of art, the means to participate and the desire to have a special opportunity will enjoy the unique experience.
