Browning’s Two Goals Spark Titans’ Victory

Dolores Browning scored twice as Cal State Fullerton defeated UC Santa Barbara, 2-0, in a Big West Conference women’s soccer game Friday at Cal State Fullerton.

The victory ended a four-game losing streak for the Titans (5-7, 2-1). Browning scored from 20 yards in the second minute. Amy Barnes had an assist on the play. Browning added her second goal off an assist by Tennli Ulicny in the 78th minute.

In another Big West Conference game:

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 0, UC Irvine 0--The Anteaters, unbeaten in their first nine games, ended a two-game losing skid. Goalie Kristen Roy had four saves for UC Irvine (8-2-2, 2-0-1). Natalia Garcia had six saves for the Mustangs (6-4-2, 3-0-2), who are undefeated in their last seven games.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Chapman 2, La Verne 1--Kristie Hoback scored two goals, the game-winner coming off of a rebound in the 66th minute. Heather Cooper scored for La Verne (6-5) in the third minute, and Hoback tied it in the 44th minute. Chapman improves to 4-6-2.
