OPELIKA, Ala. — Rookie sensation Se Ri Pak, despite making her first bogey in over 100 holes, shot a 3-under-par 69 Friday and took a two-stroke lead over Helen Alfredsson, Kelly Robbins and defending champion Annika Sorenstam in the LPGA Tournament of Champions.
Pak, whose four wins this year include two major tournaments, was at 7-under 137 for two trips around the 6,300-yard Lakes Course at Grand National.
Pak overtook Robbins after the first-round leader double bogeyed and bogeyed Nos. 3 and 4 to drop to three under. Robbins got back to five under after nine holes but couldn’t make up any ground after that and finished with a 73.
Sorenstam, who has also won four times this year, and Alfredsson, a two-time winner this season, each had a second-round 70.
Pak, who had four birdies in her round Friday, bogeyed No. 10, ending a string of 103 holes without going over par.
