*** Mudhoney, “Tomorrow Hit Today,” Reprise. Mudhoney has finally realized its potential by channeling its distinctively primal sound into a batch of focused, solidly crafted songs. Postmodern blues numbers such as “I Have to Laugh” blow the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion out of the water, and several tracks (especially “Oblivion”) achieve a Gothic grandeur that would give Nick Cave a turn.
