Universal Names New Park President

Seagram Co.’s Universal Studios Recreation Group has named Robert N. Brisco president of the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park, Universal Studios CityWalk and Universal City Cinemas.
Brisco will oversee operations, finance, strategic planning, marketing, sales, food service and entertainment for Los Angeles’ leading tourist destination.
Brisco was formerly vice president of advertising, marketing and new business development for the Los Angeles Times. Before his five years at The Times, Brisco was a senior consultant with the management consulting firm McKinsey & Co., specializing in the media, leisure and consumer products industries.
In a separate announcement, Universal said Thursday that it had acquired Wet ‘n Wild Inc., the world’s leading independent water park company, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition gives Universal water parks in Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla., and franchised locations in Mexico and Brazil.
