Who would have thought this would be a matchup of undefeated teams in the fourth week of the season, and that La Quinta and Santiago would be the Garden Grove League’s only two unbeatens entering league play? Maybe this is the year someone other than Rancho Alamitos, Pacifica or Los Amigos wins the league title? It’s too early to tell how good La Quinta or Santiago is, because neither has played a difficult nonleague schedule. But Santiago’s 19-7 victory over previously undefeated Magnolia was impressive enough to make the Cavaliers a heavy favorite over surprising La Quinta.
