Be Healthy by Playing It Safe

Yeah, yeah, yeah--accidents, ailments and other misfortunes happen. But you can prevent a lot of it; staying safe is a big part of staying well. Some easy steps you can take include:

* Washing your hands with soap and warm water before meals, after you use the restroom and after being outdoors.

* Using sunscreen.

* Always using your seat belt.

* Equipping your car with flares, a flashlight, a first-aid kit, a blanket and other emergency items.

* Following workplace safety rules.

* Using childproof fencing and gates around pools and spas. But even with such precautions, don’t leave children by themselves.

* Storing medicines, chemicals and sharp items out of reach of children and pets.
