Van Nuys 26, Eagle Rock 24--Jermaine Lucious caught four touchdown passes, including a 14-yarder from Bobby Hernandez with 1:53 remaining to give the third-seeded Wolves the lead for good at Van Nuys.
The game-winning touchdown capped a 45-yard drive that started after Andrew Shin recovered a fumble by Rhuben Williams of Eagle Rock. Van Nuys (9-3) needed six plays to score.
Eagle Rock (7-5) drove to its 45-yard line, but Torwin Sessions’ pass in the final seconds was intercepted by Ramon Palomo at the Van Nuys 25. It was Palomo’s second interception of the game.
Eagle Rock led at four different times, but Van Nuys responded with touchdown passes from Hernandez to Lucious on each occasion. They connected on scoring plays of 55 and 37 yards in the first half, and 30 yards in the third quarter.
Lucious finished with six catches for 152 yards. Hernandez completed 11 of 22 passes for 216 yards, with no interceptions.
