Cal State Officer Injured in Collision

VENTURA — A state university police officer was injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-car collision at Hill and Telephone roads, authorities said.
The officer’s name and condition were not immediately available, but ambulance personnel said his injuries were more than minor and required advanced life support techniques.
Information about the second vehicle was not immediately available.
The officer is based at the new Cal State Channel Islands campus in Camarillo. He was being treated Wednesday night at Ventura County Medical Center.
No other injuries were reported.
The officer was traveling in his patrol car with a K-9 unit about 5:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. Officers spent several hours investigating the crash scene. It was not immediately known why the officer was in Ventura.
