HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS PLAYOFFS

Palisades 6, Van Nuys 1--Joanne Joo and Marsha Kadze overcame a 5-2 deficit in the third set to notch the only victory for Van Nuys against top-seeded Palisades in the other City Championship semifinal.

Joo and Kadze defeated the Dolphins’ No. 3 doubles team of Tiffany Miller and Ashley St. Amand, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

Agoura 10, St. Lucy’s 8--No. 2 singles player Alyson Tyson and the No. 1 doubles team of Lauren Hahn and Alexis Bell came from behind to win key sets for Agoura and the Chargers (12-9) defeated St. Lucy’s (14-5) in a Southern Section Division III second-round playoff match at Citrus College.
