White, Valencia Turn Out the Lights on Saugus

Manuel White rushed for 256 and four touchdowns in 25 carries to help Valencia High defeat Saugus, 47-27, and secure second place in the Foothill League on Friday night at College of the Canyons.

White scored on runs of 52, two, five and six yards, but also lost two fumbles.

The game was delayed for nearly 30 minutes in the second quarter because of a power failure that caused three of the stadium’s four banks of lights to go out.

Brian Hamilton completed four of nine passes for 82 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown to Kaelen Jakes to give Valencia (7-3, 4-1 in league play) a 34-14 lead with 13 seconds left in the second quarter.
