Net Income Plummets 82% at Quality Systems
Quality Systems Inc., a Tustin developer of computer systems for medical and dental practices, said net income for the second quarter fell 82%, to $63,000, or 1 cent per share, from $349,000, or 6 cents a share, a year earlier. The fall in profits came as revenue rose 6%, to $7.9 million, from $7.5 million a year earlier.
The sales increase resulted from a 33% rise in revenue from recurring maintenance and other services. Sales of new systems, upgrades and supplies fell 9%, to $4.4 million from $4.8 million, which the company attributed to a fluctuating market and a change in accounting methods.
