Mayor’s Endorsement
When going through the mail, I was surprised to find a letter from the “City of Los Angeles, Mayor Richard Riordan.” Wow! Why, I asked myself, would the mayor be writing me? I opened it and found that it was in fact an endorsement of Richard Alarcon. Writing such an endorsement letter on a city letterhead clearly implies that the city of Los Angeles is endorsing the mayor’s candidate. I do not believe that the entire city is endorsing this candidate.
If the mayor of my city wants to endorse a candidate that is his prerogative. However, he should use his personal letterhead. It is his choice. Not mine!
