Arizona’s Evans Wins Pacific 10 Award

Arizona pitcher Nancy Evans, a Hoover High graduate, has been selected the school’s winner of the women’s Pacific 10 Conference Medal.
The award is given annually based on a combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.
Evans helped Arizona reach the NCAA championship game, where it lost to Fresno State.
BASEBALL
No. 1 Mission: Andy Campanella and Tim Leveque of league champion Crespi High took the top Mission League honors.
Campanella, who batted .519 with five home runs and 41 runs batted in, was selected the league most valuable player.
Leveque, who was 9-1 with a 2.40 earned-run average, was chosen most valuable pitcher.
