SEASON AT A GLANCE: The defending City Section champion in the 100 and 200 meters has clocked 11.9 seconds in the 100 and 24.4 in the 200. She has leaped 17 feet 4 inches in the long jump and 38-8 in the triple jump.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: The UCLA-bound Grayson won the 100 in 11.9, the 200 in 24.4, the triple jump at 38-8 and ran a leg on the victorious 400 relay team that clocked 46.6 in the Northwest Valley Conference finals Friday at Birmingham High. Grayson’s school-record mark in the triple jump moved her to sixth on the all-time region performer list, and Taft moved to fourth in the 400 relay. “She’s always been one to rise to the occasion at the end of the season,” Taft assistant Neil Boggess said of Grayson. “Right now it’s time for her to step up and she knows it.”
